Building Scientific Capacity

In addition to its biomedical efforts, SIGMA is committed to building scientific capacity in Mexico. In collaboration with the Carlos Slim Health Institute, SIGMA developed a scientific exchange program to enhance both intellectual and technological infrastructure in Mexico.

Thanks to this program, Mexican scientists have collaborated with their Broad counterparts in a flourishing exchange of ideas, sharing access to advanced technology and providing educational opportunities for researchers and students both at Broad and Mexico. This investment in human capital will help ensure that the discoveries made possible by the SIGMA Project result in a long-term public health benefit for the people of Mexico.
