Students Ask: Broadies Answer - Targeted Cancer Therapy

Although chemotherapy is commonly used to treat cancer, it is not always an effective treatment and frequently causes significant side effects. This is because chemotherapy drugs can't distinguish between cancer cells and a patient's normal, healthy cells. Scientists at the Broad Institute are searching for better treatment options that are designed to target only cancerous cells while leaving normal, healthy cells unharmed. Join Biondy Lisieux, a high school senior at the Community Charter School of Cambridge, as he interviews scientists in the Broad's Cancer Program to learn about this targeted cancer therapy and how it will change the future of medicine.

About "Students Ask: Broadies Answer" Video Series: How better to get information about a burning scientific question than to go straight to the scientists? The Broad wants to help high school students with a curiosity for biomedical research learn more about their topic of interest. These videos are designed to answer questions submitted by students at partnering high schools. There's no better way to learn than to go straight to the source! What do you want to know?
